SAT Math score calculator
Math only, on the 200 to 800 section scale. No total is shown, because a total built from a section you did not enter would be a wrong number you had no way to spot.

The Math curve is not the Reading and Writing curve
Each section has its own conversion column in every official table, and they behave differently. Math bands tend to be wider through the middle of the scale, which means a single raw score maps to a broader span of possible scaled scores.
At a Math raw score of 40, the eight official tables place the lower bound anywhere from 570 to 590. Picking the right table matters as much here as anywhere on the test.
Add both modules before converting
Module 1 and module 2 raw scores are added together first, then converted once. This is the order College Board's own scoring guide specifies, and doing it the other way round produces results that contradict themselves.
Context for the number
The Class of 2025 mean Math score was 508, with a standard deviation of 126. The readiness benchmark is 530, and 41 percent of that cohort met it.

Common questions
- How many questions are in SAT Math?
- The paper practice tests have 54, in two modules of 27. The adaptive Bluebook test has 44, in two modules of 22, of which 40 are scored because each module carries two unscored pretest questions.
- What raw score gives an 800 in Math?
- It depends on the test. On some official tables a perfect 54 of 54 converts to 800 flat, and on others it converts to a 790 to 800 range. A few tables reach the top of the band one or two raw scores earlier.
- How much does the Math curve vary between tests?
- At a Math raw score of 40, the eight official tables put the lower bound between 570 and 590. That is why this tool asks which test you took.
- What is the Math benchmark?
- 530. College Board describes it as predicting a 75 percent likelihood of achieving a C or higher in a related first semester, credit-bearing college course. In the Class of 2025, 41 percent of test takers met it.
